1To be eligible to earn bonus points you must be enrolled in the Membership Rewards� program at the time of purchase and charge your purchases to an eligible, enrolled American Express� Card.

Upon your first Eligible Spending** purchase, a one-time bonus of 5,000 points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account. You may be permitted to have more than one Gold Card from OPEN account; however, you are eligible to earn this 5,000 point welcome bonus points for only one Card account. Additional Cardmembers are not eligible. These bonus points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account 6 to 8 weeks after your first Eligible Spending purchase appears on your Gold Card from OPEN billing statement. Bonus ID: 9238. You can earn additional bonus points for your Eligible Spending** in each membership year, as follows: If your Eligible Spending in a membership year is equal to or greater than $20,000 but less than $50,000, you can earn 5,000 bonus points; if your Eligible Spending in a membership year is equal to or greater than $50,000, you can earn an additional 20,000 bonus points. Bonus points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account 6 to 8 weeks after your Eligible Spending reaches the $20,000 and $50,000 threshold amounts, respectively. Bonus ID: 7312; 8192. **"Eligible Spending" includes purchases of goods or services, which purchases have not been returned or otherwise credited to your Card account: it does NOT include fees, Finance Charges, Balance Transfers, Cash Advances or similar means of accessing your Card account, or the purchase of American Express Travelers Cheques, American Express Gift Cheques or other cash equivalents.

2Enrollment in a participating Frequent Flyer program is required. Airline tickets are subject to availability. For each conversion of points into the Frequent Flyer program of a U.S. airline, a fee of $0.0005 per point, with a maximum fee of $75, will be charged to your Card account. We charge this fee to offset the federal excise tax we must pay on such conversions. The fee may be more or less than the actual amount of the excise tax we pay on any individual conversion. We may offer you the option to redeem points to pay this fee.

4 The Gold Card has no pre-set spending limit, giving you purchasing power that adjusts with your use of the card. No preset spending limit does not mean unlimited spending. Your purchases are approved based on a variety of factors including spending patterns, your payment history, your credit history, and financial resources known to us.
